Prince Rupert Regional Hospital (PRRH), constructed in the early 1970s, is a six-storey healthcare facility with two basement levels dedicated to building operations and four above-ground levels supporting patient care and medical services. As an active regional healthcare facility, PRRH requires the conversion of two existing rooms into secure rooms to support safe, compliant, and effective clinical care.
The primary objective of this assignment is to develop a complete design solution for converting the two existing rooms into seclusion rooms that align with applicable provincial standards, clinical and operational requirements, and patient, staff, and infection prevention safety needs.
