    Overview
    Notice is hereby given that the Ministry of Forests, BC Timber Sales – Seaward (tlasta)  is contemplating making a direct award of a contract to Gwa’Nak Resources (the “
    Supplier”).

    The high-level details of the contemplated contract are generally described below.
    Mobilization and demobilization to site by barge to Burnt Island Harbour on the Central Coast of British Columbia, 1343m of FSR reconstruction, 1343m of FSR deactivation, installation and subsequent removal of two all steel portable bridges, removal of three log stringer bridges, stream rehabilitation and realignment.
    The contractor’s qualifications required to complete the services are:
    • Must have completed project of similar complexity and scope;
    • Must have proven capacity to complete remote industrial operations on the BC Central Coast;
    • Must have experience working under an Environmental Management System;
    • Must be Safe Certified by the BC Forest Safety Council;
    • Must have a business relationship with the Gwa’sala-‘Nakwaxda’xw Nations
       
    Contract Term and Aggregate Contract Value
    The term of the contract is expected to be August 29, 2023 to October 31, 2024.

    The aggregate value of the contract is expected not to exceed, exclusive of applicable taxes $184,740.00.
     
    Rationale for Contemplating a Direct Award
    The Province is contemplating a direct award with the Supplier for the following reasons:
    To increase indigenous partnership, participation, and confidence in BCTS forestry operations and stewardship.
