Description
The City of New Westminster is seeking qualified Rail Engineering Design Services companies and to create a shortlist of qualified suppliers (Shortlisted Supplier)
Transport Canada revised its Grade Crossing Regulations (GCR) and Grade Crossing Standards (GCS) in 2019. The City of New Westminster, as the road authority, is required to work with the rail companies to achieve compliance by November 2024. Additionally, the CROR requirement for non-emergent train whistling at public grade crossings can have a negative impact on residents. Implementing the upgrades for whistle cessation will stop the non-emergent whistles and will reduce the amount of whistling and it’s negative impacts on nearby residents.
