    Description
    City of Prince George (the “City”) is seeking a Supplier to provide and maintain new stand-alone transit bus benches at designated transit locations within the City of Prince George. The requirements of this program are:
    1. To Provide accessible, safe, and comfortable seating for passengers waiting for transit that fits into and enhances the existing streetscape.
     
    1. Accessible: Design should be considerate of the needs of seniors and people with mobility limitations and placement should provide clear passage for snow removal equipment so as not to inhibit snow removal;
     
    1. Safe: Benches should be constructed out of durable materials that can withstand harsh weather conditions; and,
     
    1. Comfortable: A seating surface that does not allow water to pool when it rains or snows, preferably with armrests to assist people getting out of the seat.
     
    1. Add further value to the transit system by improving the appearance of bus stop locations, which in turn supports the City’s core focus areas to collaborate with partners to enhance the quality of life for residents and prioritize transportation infrastructure needs and investment.
     
    1. Provide revenue to the City through advertising on the benches.
     
    1. To ensure minimal interruptions in the service to the users.

    Presently the City has 73 locations with non-City owned transit bus benches. The previous supplier has six (6) months to remove existing benches, after contract is awarded with respect to this RFP.  As benches are removed the Supplier will install, replace and or maintain new/previously installed benches. The City will coordinate the transition schedule with the Supplier.
