Notice is hereby given that Provincial Health Services Authority (“PHSA”) on its own behalf and as agent for Fraser Health Authority, Interior Health Authority, Northern Health Authority, Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, and Vancouver Island Health Authority (the “Health Authorities”), intends to extend non-volume committed Contracts to the following suppliers to ensure the continued supply of these essential products/services to the Health Authorities with stable pricing for the duration of eighteen (18) months until PHSA completes an upcoming competitive process.

The estimated aggregate value of the agreements is CAD $3,093,282 including tax.

In accordance with applicable trade agreements, PHSA, as agent for the Health Authorities has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason:
    • To ensure compatibility with existing goods, or to maintain specialized goods that must be maintained by the manufacturer of those goods or its representative.
The six (6) Health Authorities require the ongoing support and supply for Surgical and Biological Mesh from the above mentioned Suppliers to ensure the continued supply and prices for use in their facilities while a competitive procurement is executed. It is imperative that the Health Authorities have access to these products in order to adhere to current clinical protocols and procedures and to secure alternative products as global supply chains continue to be affected by challenges. Early completion of a competitive process may, at the discretion of PHSA, result in termination of these contracts before the end of their respective terms.

Vendors who wish to challenge this decision should submit a detailed written objection for the attention of Glenn Wong by email to glenn.wong@phsa.ca  before 12:00pm Pacific Time, Friday, September 02, 2022.  PHSA will review any and all issues received by this date and provide due consideration to each objection.
