NOI Title: Fire Alarm System Upgrade

Notice is hereby given that Fraser Health Authority (the “Health Authority”), through their agent Provincial Health Services Authority (“PHSA”), intends to directly award a contract to the following supplier to provide an upgrade to the existing Fire Alarm System for Langley Memorial Hospital at an estimated value of $90,369.68.

In accordance with applicable trade agreements, PHSA, as agent for the Health Authority has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason:
- the goods or services can be supplied only by the selected supplier and no alternative or substitute exists for the following reason:
- To ensure compatibility with existing goods, or to maintain specialized goods that must be maintained by the manufacturer of those goods or its representative.
The current fire alarm system at the Langley Memorial Hospital is critical to ensuring the safety of all within the site. The current software supporting the system requires an upgrade. Tyco Integrated Fire & Security Canada Inc., O/A Johnson Controls, is the original equipment supplier and installer for this product. This vendor is the only authorized supplier for this system in BC and the only vendor authorized to provide the required upgrade to this proprietary system.
Vendors who wish to challenge this decision should submit a detailed written objection for the attention of Karl Eadie, Buyer and Spomenko (Jeremy) Eremija, Buyer by email to karl.eadie@phsa.ca and spomenko.eremija@hssbc.ca before 2:00pm Pacific Time, May 20, 2023. PHSA will review any and all issues received by this date and provide due consideration to each objection.
