Notice is hereby given that Provincial Health Services Authority (“PHSA”), intends to directly award a Contract to the following supplier to provide Cyclotron TR-19 Control System Upgrade services for BC Caner Vancouver Centre at an estimated value of CAD $311,304.00 including taxes.

In accordance with applicable trade agreements, PHSA has chosen not to proceed with a competitive process for the following reason:
  • the goods or services can be supplied only by the selected supplier and no alternative or substitute exists for the following reason:
  1. due to an absence of competition for technical reasons
Since 2009, the BC Cancer regional centers have utilized the Advanced Cyclotron Systems Inc. (ACSI) Cyclotron TR19. The TR19 Control System main PLC-5 cabinet requires replacement and upgrade to current ControlLogi PLC, to guard against catastrophic unplanned equipment failure rendering all PET/CT scanners inoperable. Due to the proprietary and custom-made nature of the Cyclotron TR19, only ACSI meets the requirements, and no alternative or substitutes exists in the market.
Vendors who wish to challenge this decision should submit a detailed written objection for the attention of Gaillie Au, Buyer, by email to Gaillie.au@phsa.ca before 2:00pm Pacific Time, June 20, 2024. PHSA will review any and all issues received by this date and provide due consideration to each objection.
