    Description
    Project Overview
    This is a Major Works contract offered for performance of trail maintenance and repairs on the provincially owned and designated rail trails. The contractor is expected to address a list of maintenance items and prescriptions developed and subsequently monitored by a 3rd party Assessment and Supervision contractor. For all intents and purposes, this supervision contractor will be considered the Ministry Representative when necessary.

    All work is expected to be located on the Columbia & Western Rail Trail (C&WR) and Kettle Valley Rail Trail (KVR) commencing near Fife, BC. In addition, works may be required on the Slocan Valley Rail Trail. The farthest Western extent of project area will be Beaverdell. Note that this project completely excludes Gilpin Grasslands Provincial Park.

    Works are expected to be primarily drainage and surface maintenance such as culvert maintenance, ditching, grading, surfacing, and end-hauling material to designated spoil sites. Additional works such as gate removal, bollard installation, rock scaling, danger tree falling, surficial bridge repairs (decking, ties, curbs, and railings), and retaining wall repairs have also been identified.
