    Description
    Through this Request for Proposals, the City of Merritt seeks proposals to meet the City’s urgent need to install manufactured mobile housing for up to 28 households that were displaced as a result of the November 2021 Flooding Event.  The location of all Unit Lots for the Work is the Diamond Vale Mobile Home Park, 2776 Clapperton Avenue, Merritt, BC.

    In this RFP, the required 28 homes are labelled as ‘Unit Lots’. Proposals to this RFP may be submitted for any or all ‘Unit Lots’ which Respondents seek to supply.
    Each Unit Lot has different sizes and features (detailed further in Part A of this RFP).  In general, a summary of the work required by the Contractor for each Unit Lot is as follows:
    • Supply, deliver, offload and place manufactured mobile home which meets Unit Lot requirements;
    • Ensure compliance with all City of Merritt building code requirements, and submit the Building Permit application to the City;
    • Prepare and setup the Unit Lot and manufactured mobile home so that it is ready for occupancy, including:
      • Establish, verify and stake out manufactured mobile home location in relation to utilities, Unit Lot boundary line, fire code mobile home distance.
      • Install poly, gravel, and utility connections ready under the manufactured mobile home.
      • Stake out driveway location (driveway to be constructed by others).
      • Install foundation requirements and level home.
      • Install permanent steps/stairs with railings.
      • Install skirting around base of manufactured mobile home.
    • Connect manufactured mobile home to all utilities available at Unit Lot;
    • Testing, commissioning, and other associated works.
    The City has a preference for the Work for each Unit Lot to be completed at the earliest opportunity, with ‘Ready for Takeover’ (Total Completion) of all Work for each Unit Lot achieved before December 31, 2022.  The City recognizes that this timeline may not be achievable for all Unit Lots and will accept Proposals based on a later Ready for Takeover date.
