The District of Summerland (the “District”) is accepting Expressions of Interest from parties who are interested in purchasing bulk quantities of composted soil amendment.
The District has produced the soil amendment by composting yard waste, green wood chips and wastewater treatment sludge. All testing meets the requirements to be sold as compost under the Organic Matter Recycling Regulation except for the required C:N ratio. The soil amendment produced has been found to be higher in nitrogen than required for sale as a compost. Higher than normal nitrogen has benefits for certain applications of soil amendment.
