Description
The convalescent care unit should consist of a cluster of ten (10) convalescent beds providing 24 hour short-stay care to clients who would otherwise go to Long Term Care. Clients are those who require a period of convalescent care of up to ninety (90) days to regain strength and ability to allow them to return to their home or Assisted Living site. Alternatively, clients may be those who are non-weight-bearing or limited weight-bearing and require 24 hour care at a non-acute level, while awaiting surgery or recovering from surgery prior to accessing rehabilitation.
