Description
Project Description:
The IH Low Carbon Capital Plan for Owned Buildings (LCCP) is a new document that will support IH in achieving the provincial target for building GHG emissions reductions (50% reduction by 2030 compared to 2010 baseline levels). Interior Health’s 2023 building emissions were 38,571 tCO2e, with a 2010 baseline of 37,258 tCO2e and 2030 target of 18,629 tCO2e. Through a dynamic path of decarbonizing our existing owned portfolio of buildings, the LCCP will inform IH’s capital prioritization processes and Strategic Energy Management Plan (SEMP) each year until 2030.Development of the LCCP will contribute to IH’s ‘Addressing Climate Change and Sustainability’ Strategic Priority for 2024-2027 and is in alignment with IH’s recently developed 2023-2028 Climate Change and Sustainability Roadmap (CCSR). The CCSR is the IH organization-wide strategy to guide population-based climate action and corporate sustainability over the next five years.
