Description
This is a two-year term contract. Timing of deliverables is outlined in the schedule “A”. This contract requires the completion of free-growing surveys (Even-aged and Multi-storey). Most of these blocks were designed to deal with the 2017 fire (SU) – clearcut / fire salvage and to manage the FBB population under single tree silvicultural system (SU). The field data collection and report comments must include adequate level of details to allow BCTS to schedule activities in LRM such site preparation and planting per standard unit. This contract includes collection of field data (reconnaissance and plots) and submission of office deliverables such as signed survey reports and documentation, spatial data, and self-audit of Land Resource Manager application (LRM) uploaded data. Most sites are located in Meldrum, Hawks Creek and Big Creek – Williams Lake Timber Supply Area, accessible by 4x4 or ATV gravel road. The locations of each site are shown on the Overview Map included with the tender package, and individual block unit maps are provided as well.
Approximately 43 blocks, 65 surveys covering approximately 2,500 hectares. Refer to the contract schedules and appendices for further details.

The lowest priced or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
Be aware that BCTS has made changes to its EMS and SFM programs to meet the updated 2022 Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Forest Management Standard. Changes impacting BCTS clients include new training requirements (Table 008-1, 008-1A, Tailgate Training, SFI Awareness documents, and new Indigenous rights awareness training, as well as changes to training frequency and a new continuing education component). In addition, note changes to EMS/SFM Environmental Field Procedures and Incident Reporting Procedures which occurred June 1, 2022.
Supervisors and workers will need to be familiar with these changes prior to commencement of operations. These documents are posted on our external EMS/SFM website at BC Timber Sales - Business Area Environmental Management System (EMS) and Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) - Province of British Columbia (https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/industry/forestry/bc-timber-sales/forest-certification/ems-sfm).
