Health Canada is seeking to investigate whether exposure to ambient air pollution, specially PM2.5 as a mixture, may exacerbate the risk for long-term morbidity and mortality among residents in Canada who were previously diagnosed with COVID-19. Evidence about the intersection between air pollution and post-COVID morbidity and mortality will support Health Canada’s epidemiological analyses and health impact assessment activities. This contract seeks to accomplish the objective as follows: To examine whether exposure to ambient air pollution, especially PM2.5 as a mixture, may contribute to long-term morbidity and mortality among residents in Ontario who were previously diagnosed with COVID-19.
