Description
5P468-25-0291/A Stage 2 - Rogers Pass Generator and Fuel Storage Replacement, Rogers Pass National Historic Site
REQUIREMENT
Parks Canada requires removal and replacement of a diesel generator and fuel tank in Rogers Pass operational compound at Rogers Pass National Historic Site. The Rogers Pass operational compound is currently supported by two diesel generators that provide emergency power during utility grid outages. In coordination with Mount Revelstoke and Glacier National Parks, the project requires the removal and replacement of one existing 300 kW diesel generator to ensure continued reliability of standby power systems.
This scope includes the complete decommissioning of the existing generator, followed by the procurement and installation of a new generator unit of equivalent or greater capacity. All associated mechanical and electrical integration work—such as fuel system connections, controls interfaces, structural mounting, commissioning, and final testing—is part of the project scope.
In addition to generator replacement activities, the project requires the installation of a new 3,000 gallon fuel storage tank to support extended-power operation. A snow shelter structure must also be constructed to protect the tank from heavy winter snow loads typical of the Rogers Pass environment.
