    Description

    The objective of the project is to complete two (2) to five (5) days of scientific rock crab trap fishing.

    For each of the four (4) study areas, the Department of Fisheries and Oce ans Canada requires the services of a contractor to provide up to five (5) days of rock crab fishing. The exact number of fishing days will be weather dependent, and determined by the chief scientist in consultation with the captain. The work includes, but is not limited to, trap-fishing and biological measurements (i.e. sorting, counting and measuring) of captured rock crab and by-catch species (e.g. lobster, toad crab, snow crab, cunner, flounders, shrimp and sea stars).

    Contract duration

    The estimated contract period will be 11 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2023/06/13.
