Gros Cap Launch Ramp Replacement

    Description

    The project site is the launch ramp located at the Small Craft Harbours, Gros Cap facility (46°31'39.7"N 84°34'57.0"W). Gros Cap is located approximately 21km West of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The purpose of this project is to replace the existing launch ramp and place new concrete anchor blocks.

    The work under this contract covers:
    1. Removal of existing precast concrete launch ramp (Approx. 60m2).
    2. Removal of existing cast in place concrete approach (Approx. 55m2).
    3. Supply and Installation of new pre-cast concrete launch ramp
    4. Supply and installation of new cast in place concrete approach
    5. Supply and installation of new concrete anchor blocks for existing floating docks

    FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE:

    Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that bidders visit the site and its surroundings, at their own expense and schedule, to review and verify the form, nature and extent of the work, materials necessary for the completion of the works, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account of error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.

    Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.

    It is anticipated the contractor can perform and complete the work in approximately 5-7 weeks, with mobilization beginning on October 15th 2024. All work must be completed by February 28th, 2025.

    Contract duration

    The estimated contract period will be 4 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2024/10/15.
