The Correctional Service Canada has a requirement to provide reintegration support to CSC indigenous offenders in accordance with the Corrections & Conditional Release Act (CCRA). The purpose of conditional release is to contribute to the maintenance of a just, peaceful and safe society. One of the ways that this legislative mandate is fulfilled is to assist offenders to reintegrate into the community as law-abiding citizens through the provision of programs, plans, and supervision in institutions and in the community. The protection of society is the paramount consideration in the release process
