    Description

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), more specifically the Consumer, Research and Communications Sector (CRC), requires the ability to call upon 1-8 professionals per year who can support: process and validate financial and geospatial data; develop and design Tableau dashboards; the evaluation of accessibility for Tableau dashboards; work with databases; analyze, summarize, and describe, in writing, industry data for public and internal consumption.
This includes five senior-level positions: three statistical analysts (two data scientists and a Tableau developer), a subject matter expert (economist), and a technical writer (Tableau designer).
This also includes two intermediate-level positions: two statistical analysts (a geo analyst and a project manager).
Finally, one junior-level position is also required: project manager (project manager).

Expected output: The expected outputs will be varied and dependent on the services rendered during the fiscal year. Examples include Tableau dashboards, validated geospatial data, accessibility evaluations, written analysis, presentations, interactive infographics, and project plans.

Why the services are required: These services are required immediately due to the immediacy of Bill C-11 and the latest telecom order (Order Issuing a Direction to the CRTC on a Renewed Approach to Telecommunications Policy) that indicates that the CRTC should “further develop strong and timely market monitoring, research and strategic foresight skills”.
Three data teams operating under CRC are working diligently to modernize the data collection, validation and production process within the CRTC. Currently, they do not have sufficient resources and in some cases, lack the necessary expertise to modernize the process. The output of this process directly feeds into the Market Intelligence function that is being developed.

When the service is required: The services will be called upon as needed over the period of the contract with an immediate need for a data storyteller and a subject matter expert (economist).

Where will the work be completed: All the Work will be completed in Canada and offsite, by the contractors, using CRTC computers

The Work is currently undertaken by Bronson Analytics in part, under contract number 23-0121 with a value of $39, 273.15 CAD.

    Contract duration

The estimated contract period will be 24 month(s).
