    Plant Wharf 404 Reconstruction

    The work covered consists of the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment and material for the reconstruction of the existing timber crib structure at the Port au Choix Plant Wharf, NL in accordance with specifications and accompanying drawings and subject to all terms and conditions of the Contract.

    In general, the work under this contract consists of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following:

    • Site Work including mobilization, demobilization, excavation, demolition, hauling, and disposal offsite and onsite.
    • Required survey to set location of new Work as indicated on the drawings.
    • Required testing of treated timber to be disposed.
    • Excavation of existing overburden to hard bottom in the footprint of the rock mattress foundation for the timber cribwork.
    • Construction of timber cribwork with associated rock ballast, fendering, wheelguard and blocking, Type “A” and “B1” mooring cleats and blocks, and ladders.
    • Supply and placement of new quarried rock fill and Class “A” granular material.
    • Supply and placement of scour protection.
    • Removal and reinstatement of existing armour stone, and the additional supply and placement of new armour stone.
    • Construction of reinforced concrete wharf deck and approach slab on grade.

    FAMILIARIZATION WITH SITE

    Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that bidders visit the site and its surroundings to review and verify the form, nature and extent of the work, materials necessary for the completion of the works, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account of error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.

    Contractors, bidders or those they invite to site are to review specification Section 01 35 28 - Health and Safety Requirements before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid.

    The Contractor must perform and complete the Work by December 23, 2024.

    *Drawings and specifications will only be shared with the Bidders who qualify during Phase 1, when the ITT document is distributed in Phase 2 of the process.

    Contract duration

    The estimated contract period will be 3 month(s), with a proposed start date of 2024/09/02.
