Description
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has a requirement to conduct a juvenile American lobster (Homarus americanus) monitoring study to assess if there are impacts to lobster due to the permitted disposal activities at the Black Point Disposal Site, located at the southeast entrance to Saint John Harbour, New Brunswick, as compared to six reference sites located within the Bay of Fundy. The study will require the collection of live and intact lobsters which will then need to be processed to obtain meat and hepatopancreas tissues for a subsequent lobster tissue contaminant study. To characterize each of the study areas, monitoring of depth and temperature, photography of the sea floor and collection of representative sediment samples will also be required.
