    Description
The re-development of the Medical Sciences Building’s West Wing for the proposed James and Louise Temerty Building (JLTB) represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity for the University to provide the physical resources needed to begin to modernize the facilities infrastructure required in support of the Temerty Faculty of Medicine’s
(TFoM) research and education missions and to provide relief for the increasing space needs for TFoM and other Faculties in the coming years. JLTB will create a more recognizable, and welcoming front-door that fosters a sense of place, community, and engagement in the centre of the St. George Campus, that bring researchers and students from vast networks in the nearby Discovery District and the Toronto Academic Health Science Network (TAHSN).
The University has selected Integrated Project Delivery as the method to design and construct the JLTB at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, which includes demolition of the existing west wing of the Medical Sciences Building (MSB), integration of a new District  Energy Nodal Plant and all associated site works.
The proposed development assumes full demolition of the existing West Wing (approximately 16,648 gsm, 8,807 nasm) to be replaced with the proposed JLTB (32,511 gsm, 15,393 nasm).
Through this RFSQ process, the University will select a short list of up to five (5) teams that will then be invited to proceed to the Request for Proposal (RFP) stage. This RFSQ is for the Architectural team who will join the larger IPD team. The IPD Builder will be selected separately via a similar two-step RFSQ / RFP process. The Architectural team must have demonstrable expertise and experience with Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) and Lean construction methodologies and principles.
The Architectural team may be a joint venture and may include international members.  To be clear, this is not mandatory nor expected, and it is the sole discretion of Proponents to determine these possible partnerships.  If a partnership is chosen by a Proponent team, it must be properly profiled and the team must include an architectural firm that is licensed and certified to practice in the province of Ontario.
*Please note, the question acceptance deadline has not been extended from September 20th. Due to technical difficulties the MERX posting shows an incorrect question deadline of September 21st at 4:45.
