    Description
The Unversity of Ottawa is pleased to invite qualified proponents to submit a proposal for SAXS/WAXS/GISAX System for analysis of nanostructured materials, thin layers and electrodes.

    General Description:
This state-of-the-art system will be used for analysis of nanostructured materials, layers and electrodes. The proposed SAXS/WAXS/GISAX system will have features including automated alignment, a wide range of sample holders for solid (powder and thin films) and liquid samples. The system will be equipped with a 2D imaging detector with a large detector surface, thus capable of measuring very large q values important for resolving very small structural details. Another important feature of the system is the capability of Grazing-Incidence Small-Angle X-ray Scattering (GI-SAXS) Stage, necessary to characterize surface structures on the nanometer scale.

Specifications listed in Appendix A – Technical Specifications Compliance Form of this RFP are the mandatory minimum requirements for the SAXS/WAXS/GISAX System.

Mandatory Minimum Requirements for the SAXS/WAXS/GISAX System:

    1.0
    - SAXS System
1.1 - The proposed system must be equiped with a SAXS control unit
1.2 - The proposed system must have the ability to perform measurement in air and vacuum.
1.3 - The proposed system must have Multi-purpose sample stage
1.4 - The proposed system must include X-RAY SOURCE (Cu) and X-RAY OPTICS, High briliance 100 micro microsource with Cu X-ray tube
1.5 - The proposed system must include a High-performance oil-free membrane pump with connectors and accessories
1.6 - The proposed system must be equipped with a 2D Hybrid Photon Counting (HPC) Detector
1.7 - The proposed system must include a GISAXS Sample Stage for high-precision GISAXS/GIXD measurements, including:
    • GISAXS
    • In-plane (phi) rotation module

3.1 - The proposed system must be equipped with a computer and monitor
3.2  - The proposed system must include the control software
3.3 - The proposed system must include an analysis data processing and data evaluation control software

4.0 - Warranty, Installation and Training
4.1 - The proposed system must include 3 years manufacturer’s warranty.
4.2 - The proposed system must include installation and on-site training.

    5.0 - Other
5.1 - The proposed system must have maximum dimensions of 3m long and 1.5m wide.
5.2 - All electrical components must have CSA (Canadian Standards Association) certification, or accepted equivalent as per Electrical Safety Authority Recognized Certification Mark at the following link: https://esasafe.com/electrical-products/recognized-certification-marks/

Otherwise, all electrical components must be able to undergo the appliable electrical inspection, and/or, certification, without voiding the system warranty.
