Description
Background and Purpose
McMaster University invites qualified bidders to submit responses for the supply of a comprehensive solution to support retail operations at the McMaster University Campus Store. The solution must support omni-channel sales and order fulfillment, inventory and merchandise management, course materials management, marketing and promotions including customer relationship management and accounting and finance functions in accordance with the terms of this Request for Proposals.Scope/Objective
The Campus Store primarily sells course materials (textbooks) and general merchandise. Course materials are made available in multiple formats including print (new and used, bound and loose leaf), codes for online course materials, and first day access course materials (digital access). General merchandise includes crested and uncrested apparel and giftware, course and office supplies, technology, books (non-course materials) and crested promotional products. Customers include students and their family members, staff/faculty, alumni and community members. Currently sales occur in one permanent physical location, pop up physical locations (ie football games, special events) and on line at campusstore.mcmaster.ca. During non-peak periods 8-10 POS registers are in use, this increases to upwards of 20 during peak periods. Inventory is stored both on the sales floor and at storage locations around campus. Customer service is provided in person and remotely via chat (Comm100) and email. Currently the Point-of-sale system and website are provided by Waterloo Information Systems. The ERP functionality is Visual Ratex provided by PRISM/RBS. These two systems are currently integrated to support the store operation. These combined systems need to be replaced with a comprehensive modern retail solution with the flexibility to adapt with the evolving campus store environment. Proposals should meet the full scope of the requirements. The ultimate solution may be composed of several integrated systems, however the proposal must be submitted by one proponent that will be responsible for leading the integrated project implementation and should serve is the primary point of contact.
