Description:
The RFP is an invitation to submit offers for The Supply and Install of a Mass Spectrometry System for Single Cell Proteomics Research, as further described herein.
The requested instrument is a mass spectrometer (MS) that is capable of high-resolution mass analysis of proteins and peptides, including their post-translationally modified forms, at single cell levels. The mass spectrometer is fitted at the front with an ultra-high pressure liquid chromatography system capable of separating peptides of pico- to micro-gram quantities prior to injection into the mass spectrometer for identification.
The UHPLC-MS/MS system will be used for quantitative proteomic and PTM (post-translational modification) analysis of biological samples, including cells and tissues, of low quantity, ranging from single cells to micrograms of tissues.
The instrument will be housed within the Biological Mass Spectrometry Facility in the Department of Biochemistry.
