D3. SCOPE OF WORK
D3.1 The Work to be done under the Contract shall consist of:
(a) Asphalt Reconstruction:
(i) Gordon Avenue from Stadacona Street to Brazier Street;
(b) Pavement Rehabilitation:
(i) Dearborn Avenue from Brazier Street to Lacy Street;
(ii) Lacy Street from Gordon Avenue to End;
(iii) Kullman Street from Kimberly Avenue to Snowdon Avenue;
(iv) Rudolph Bay from Snowdon Avenue to Snowdon Avenue;
(v) Snowdon Avenue from Treger Bay to Molson Street; and
(vi) Norilyn Bay from Antrim Road to Antrim Road;
(c) Thin Bituminous Overlay:
(i) Green Valley Bay from Louelda Street to Louelda Street.
D3.2 The major components of the Work are as follows:
(a) Asphalt Reconstruction:
(i) remove existing pavement;
(ii) excavation;
(iii) installation of subdrains;
(iv) compaction of existing subgrade;
(v) install watermain insulation as required;
(vi) installation of catch basins and connecting pipe;
(vii) placement of sub-base and base course materials;
(viii) construct one hundred eighty (180) millimetres (mm) curb for asphalt pavements utilizing slip-form paving equipment as required;
(ix) adjustment of existing drainage inlets, valves and manholes as required;
(x) renewal of existing sidewalk;
(xi) construction of one hundred (100) mm concrete sidewalk;
(xii) construction of one hundred fifty (150) mm reinforced concrete sidewalk;
(xiii) construction of concrete approached;
(xiv) placement of asphalt pavement utilizing grade control equipment (average thickness of one hundred twenty-five (125) mm);
(xv) reflective crack maintenance for new asphalt as required and along all new curb;
(xvi) cleaning of all catch basins and catch pits in the project area; and

(xvii) boulevard grading and sodding;
(b) Pavement Rehabilitation/Thin Bituminous Overlay:
(i) planing of existing asphalt overlay as required;
(ii) installation and repairs to catch basin and catch basin lead;
(iii) installation and repairs to existing manholes and sewers;
(iv) installation of streetlights and associated infrastructure;
(v) adjustment of existing pavement appurtenances;
(vi) full depth (one hundred fifty (150) mm reinforced) concrete repairs of existing slabs and joints;
(vii) construction of curbs, curb ramps, bullnoses and miscellaneous concrete slabs as required;
(viii) construction of one hundred (100) mm concrete sidewalk (including Kimberly Avenue and Molson Street new sidewalk construction);
(ix) completion of boulevard grading;
(x) installation of topsoil and sod;
(xi) placement of mainline asphalt overlay (average thickness eighty (80) mm) utilizing automatic grade control for final lift;
(xii) pavement repair fabric reinforcement installation as required; and
(xiii) reflective crack maintenance for new asphalt as required.
