    Description
    VIA is looking for an insurance brokerage offering multi-disciplinary services with a deep understanding and expertise related to the passenger railway insurance, as well as the legislation applicable to Crown Corporations and railway companies.  The chosen Supplier is required to have access to the international insurance market in order to acquire all insurance required by VIA's program, finding the most adequate coverage with the most competitive conditions. In addition to the procuring of insurance coverage, assisting in the management of VIA's insurance program and assisting with claims, the chosen Supplier will be called upon to consult and provides various technical services to VIA as insurance matters arise during the course of businessVIA is looking for an insurance brokerage offering multi-disciplinary services with a deep understanding and expertise related to the passenger railway insurance, as well as the legislation applicable to Crown Corporations and railway companies.  The chosen Supplier is required to have access to the international insurance market in order to acquire all insurance required by VIA's program, finding the most adequate coverage with the most competitive conditions.     Mandatory Requirements
    1. Insurance
    The Tenderer has the following minimal insurance coverage:
    1. Commercial General Liability Insurance of [$5,000,000]
    2. Standard Owners Form Automobile Liability Insurance, if applicable, of [$2,000,000]
    3. Professional Liability Insurance of [$25,000,000]
     
    1. Permits and licenses        
    The Tenderer has the required permits and licenses (Federal/Provincial).
     
    1. Number of years of experience   
    The Tenderer is required to have operated in the field of insurance brokerage and risk management for a minimum period of twenty (20) years at the time of submission of the Proposal. (Please note that in the event that, during the past twenty (20) years, a partnership was formed or in the case of a merger between or with other firms, the number of years of experience to be indicated is the combination of the number of years of experience of each party to the partnership or merger).
     
    1. Access to international insurance market            
    The Tenderer is required to have a direct access to specialized international insurance markets and be capable of procuring all the coverages including specialized coverage required by VIA with international insurers.
     
    1. Bilingualism        
    The Tenderer is required to provide services in both Canada’s official languages.  The lead resources assigned to VIA must be bilingual both orally and in writing.
     
    1. Office(s) in Montreal      
    The Tenderer must maintain office(s) in the city of Montreal, Canada.
