    Full Title: 2026 Local Street Renewal Program- Chancellor Drive, Kings Drive, and Various Other Locations

    D2.          SCOPE OF WORK

    D2.1        The Work to be done under the Contract shall consist of three parts:
    (a)   Part 1 – City Funded Work
    (b)   Part 2 – Manitoba Hydro Funded Work
    (c)    Part 3 – Third-Party Funded Work.

    Part 1 – City Funded Work

    D2.2        Part 1 – City Funded Work shall consist of:
    (a)   Asphalt Reconstruction
    (i)     Chancellor Drive (north leg) from Markham Road to 1662 Chancellor Drive.
    (b)   Pavement Rehabilitation
    (i)     Kings Drive from 30 m north of Seier Bay to Kilkenny Drive.
    (ii)     Kings Park Roads and Parking Lot.
    (iii)     La Porte Drive/ Rue Le Maire Alley.
    (iv)     Lamirande Place/ Dubois Place Alley.
    (c)    Thin Bituminous Overlay (TBO)
    (i)     Carrigan Place from Ulster Street to end.
    (ii)     Peacock Place from Lake Grove Bay to end.
    (d)   Asphalt Paths
    (i)     Kings Drive from Parkwood Place to Freedman Crescent.
    (e)   Sidewalk Renewals
    (i)     Kirkbridge Drive from Tim Sale Drive to #630 Kirkbridge Drive.
    (ii)     Bairdmore Boulevard from Sandusky Drive to Kinlock Lane.
    (iii)     Leeds Avenue Cut-Thru from Baylor Avenue to Newcastle Road.
    (iv)     Killarney Avenue Cut-Thru from Magdalene Bay to Loyola Bay.
    (v)     Bryn Mawr Road Cut-Thru from Mount Allison Bay to Lafayette Bay.
    (vi)     Silverstone Avenue from Dalhousie Drive to Laval Drive.
    (vii)     Ryerson Cut-Thru from Rochester Avenue to Public Lane.
    (viii)     Tunis Bay Cut-Thru from Public Lane to Patricia Avenue.
    (f)    Transit Stop Improvements
    (i)     Tim Sale Drive at Stan Bailie Drive/ Kirkbridge Drive.
    (ii)     Bairdmore Boulevard at Sandusky Drive.
    (iii)     Dalhousie Drive between Allegheny Drive and Silverstone Avenue.
    Part 2 – Manitoba Hydro Funded Work
    D2.3        Part 2 – Manitoba Hydro Funded Work shall consist of:
    (a)   Street Lighting and Associated Work
    (i)     Chancellor Drive (north leg) from Markham Road to 1662 Chancellor Drive

    Part 3 – Third-Party Funded Work

    D2.4        Part 3 – Third Party Funded Work shall consist of:
    (a)   Asphalt Paths
    (i)     Kings Park paths.

    D2.5        The City currently has no approved funding in the Capital Budget for Parts 2 and 3 of 
    the Work, but is anticipating receiving notification about funding for both prior to Commencement.  
    Parts 2 and 3 of the Work is contingent upon the City receiving sufficient funding.
    D2.5.1             Further to C7.1, if notice of sufficient funding is not received, the City shall 
    have the right to eliminate all or any portion of Parts 2 and 3, and the Contract Price will be 
    reduced accordingly.
    D2.5.2             Further to C7.5, C7.5.1, and C7.6, a reduction in the Contract Price pursuant to 
    D2.5.1 shall not be considered in calculating the aggregate reduction in the Contract Price for 
    purposes of C7.5.
    D2.5.3             If all or any portion of Parts 2 and 3 is eliminated pursuant to D2.5.1, the 
    time periods stipulated in D19 for Substantial Performance of the Work and in D20 for Total 
    Performance of the Work will be reduced proportionally by the Contract Administrator acting 
    reasonably.

    D2.6        The major components of the Work are as follows:
    (a)   Asphalt Reconstruction
    (i)     Removal of Existing Pavement;
    (ii)     Excavation;
    (iii)     Manhole Repairs;
    (iv)     Installation of catch basins and leads;
    (v)     Watermain Service Insulation;
    (vi)     Compaction of sub-grade;
    (vii)     Installation of subdrains;
    (viii)     Placement of separation/ filtration geotextile fabric and Class A geogrid;
    (ix)     Hauling and placement of Granular B Recycled Concrete Aggregates;
    (x)     Placement of base course (Granular A) materials;
    (xi)     Adjustment of existing manholes and appurtenances;
    (xii)     Construct concrete barrier curb for asphalt pavement (180 mm height);
    (xiii)     Placement of asphalt pavement (Type MS1 (55 mm thick) and MS2 (70 mm thick));
    (xiv)     Renewal of concrete sidewalks; and
    (xv)     Topsoil and Sod
    (b)   Pavement Rehabilitation
    (i)     Planing existing asphalt overlay (if applicable);
    (ii)     Full depth concrete repairs of existing joints and slabs;
    (iii)     Renewal of existing curbs;
    (iv)     Adjustment of existing catch basins, manholes, and other appurtenances;
    (v)     Catch basin lead repairs;
    (vi)     Placement of pavement repair fabric;

    (vii)     Placement of asphalt overlay (Type MS1, thicknesses vary by location);
    (viii)     Renewal of concrete sidewalks; and
    (ix)     Topsoil and Sod.
    (c)    Thin Bituminous Overlay (TBO)
    (i)     Full depth concrete repairs of existing joints and slabs;
    (ii)     Renewal of existing curbs;
    (iii)     Adjustment of existing catch basins, manholes, and other appurtenances;
    (iv)     Placement of asphalt overlay (Type MS1, average thickness 40 mm);
    (v)     Renewal of concrete sidewalks; and
    (vi)     Topsoil and Sod.
    (d)   Asphalt Paths
    (i)     Removal of Existing Pavement;
    (ii)     Excavation;
    (iii)     Compaction of sub-grade;
    (iv)     Placement of separation/ filtration geotextile fabric and Class B geogrid;
    (v)     Placement of sub-base and base course (Granular A) materials;
    (vi)     Placement of asphalt pavement (Type MS1, thickness 75 mm- one lift); and
    (vii)     Topsoil and Sod.
    (e)   Sidewalk Renewals
    (i)     Renewal of 100 mm concrete sidewalk; and
    (ii)     Topsoil and Sod.
    (f)    Transit Stop Improvements
    (i)     Removal of existing concrete sidewalk;
    (ii)     Construction of 150 mm reinforced concrete sidewalk; and
    (iii)     Topsoil and Sod.
    (g)   Street Lighting and Associated Work
    (i)     Removal of existing street lighting poles and bases;
    (ii)     Installation of concrete bases; and
    (iii)     Installation of new street lighting cables (trenching, boring, and/or overhead) and poles 
    (including connections).
