    Description
    Background and Purpose  

    McMaster University invites qualified bidders to submit responses for the supply of Helium-3 in accordance with the terms of this Request for Proposals.

    Bidders must quote the entire bid.  Partial bids will not be accepted.  
     
    Scope/Objective

    The objective of this agreement is to secure the supply of high-purity helium-3 to enable the operation of a neutron detector, a critical component of a new neutron powder diffractometer that is being constructed at McMaster Nuclear Reactor for research purposes. This instrument will serve the materials research needs of faculty and staff at McMaster University as well as the broader Canadian research community. This infrastructure is a key component of the CFI Innovation Fund project “Building a Future for Canadian Neutron Scattering”. The timeline for delivery of the helium-3 will match the schedule of this capital project.
     
    Term

    The term of this agreement is a period of four (4) years. The University requires 300 bar.litres of Helium-3 to be delivered within the first three (3) years and the remaining 50 bar.litres in Year four (4).
