Description
The Nova Scotia Accessibility Act, which came into force in 2017, aims to achieve accessibility across the province by preventing and removing barriers for people with disabilities. The province has set a goal to become fully accessible by 2030. As municipalities are designated as public sector bodies under this Act, the Municipality of the District of Yarmouth will be renovating The Administration Building to comply with accessibility standards. These renovations will include barrier-free washrooms, doors, front entrance, reception area, and council chambers.
