The Town of Bridgewater is committed to fostering a community that remains both affordable and attractive for residents, businesses, and investors. Over the past decade, the Town has experienced sustained population growth and increased economic development. While this growth reflects a strong and vibrant community, it also presents evolving demands and complexities for municipal services, including policing. In response to these pressures, the Town of Bridgewater, on behalf of the Bridgewater Police Service (BPS), is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to conduct a comprehensive internal operational review. The purpose of this review is to assess the current organizational structure, operational efficiency, and overall effectiveness of the Bridgewater Police Service. The review will identify opportunities to enhance organizational capacity, improve service delivery, and ensure the Service remains responsive to the needs of a growing and changing community while maintaining fiscal responsibility. This engagement will also support the modernization and development of administrative and operational policies, procedures, and implementation tools. The successful proponent will ensure that all recommended improvements are aligned with applicable legislative requirements, recognized policing standards in Nova Scotia, and industry best practices. Through this initiative, the Town of Bridgewater aims to strengthen the Bridgewater Police Service’s ability to deliver high-quality, efficient, and sustainable policing services now and into the future.
