Description
This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the Corporation of the City of Peterborough (the “City”) to qualified prospective proponents to submit proposals for Bird Friendly Anti-Collision Window Treatment (the “Project”), as further described in Section D.1 of the RFP Particulars (Appendix D) (the “Deliverables”).
The Project will enable the City of Peterborough to reduce the risk of injury and death of birds striking windows at select corporate facilities once installation is completed. In 2022, the City received certification as a Bird Friendly City (BFC) by Nature Canada, a national environmental organization. By obtaining BFC status, the municipality is encouraged to reduce the threat of birds striking reflective surfaces at corporate facilities. In 2023, several bird collision audits were performed that investigated how susceptible selected City facilities are to bird strikes. The audit recommended to proceed with installing bird collision deterrent markers onto windows and glassed doors at three facilities.
Contract duration
The estimated contract period will be 36 month(s).
