Laser Measuring Devices

PROJECT BACKGROUND

An important part of what we do here at MPAC is property inspections. During property inspections, inspectors will collect a variety of data points and information such as an interior and exterior materials as well as the gross floor area of all structures. To augment our data collection toolkit and enhance the customer experience, MPAC has tested the Leica Disto X4 and has decided to implement this as our main measuring tool.

PROJECT SCOPE

MPAC intends to engage suppliers for the Leica Disto X4 laser measuring device. While MPAC does recognize the existence of other laser measuring devices on the market, extensive research was completed including comparing the accuracy, weight, distance, battery type, ability to store multiple sketches and pictures, and bluetooth capability among various models and field testing was completed to determine the criteria for which functions the device must have.  We are specifically seeking the Leica Disto X4 device, we are not interested in receiving bids for any other device. 

PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND OBJECTIVE(S)

The Successful Respondent will be responsible for initially providing MPAC with approximately 250 Leica Disto X4 units. The devices will be shipped directly to our head office in Pickering Ontario, where they will be re-distributed internally. The Successful Respondent will also be responsible for periodically providing additional units due to damages, lost, stolen or increase in staffing.  When placing an order, the Successful Respondent shall deliver the units within a 2-week period, whenever possible.

PROJECT TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

NOTE: Respondents are to review the submission platform on bids&tenders before preparing their Proposal. A separate document will be required for each evaluation criteria. Respondents are not to duplicate information in their response. Responses to each evaluation criteria should include only content relevant to the requirements of that criteria.

Delivery Method / Timeframe 

• Respondents to provide delivery method and timeline for the following:
  • initial order of 250 units from time of contract execution (target start date: late March 2024).
  • additional ad hoc orders

Ordering Process

• Respondents to explain their processes, lead-times and service level commitments for order placement, delivery, payment, and visibility of order history.
• Should a portal be offered, Respondents are to include an overview of ordering systems in place (i.e., will MPAC be provided with individual login and have a product catalog available, including contracted price list, stock levels, etc.?)
• Will Respondent have the ability to add specific MPAC information on invoices (i.e. contract number)?

Warranty

• Respondents are to outline their warranty details including logistics i.e., what is the warranty period, how is the warranty leveraged, what is the process and timeline for product replacement?

Rechargeable Batteries/Chargers

• Respondents to confirm the ability to offer the following items with the devices and include the following when ordered:

• Battery Size: must be 4 AAs
• Battery Type: Must be Rechargeable Lithium or NiMH
• Charger must be compatible with type of battery specified above
• Provide brand option(s)

Company History

Respondents are to provide a detailed overview on the following:

• Brief company profile
• Description of proposed team (i.e., individual qualifications, staff or hired labour, etc.); and
• Company/service differentiators (from competitors);

• Number of employees
• Company history, including:
  • Head office and additional office locations;
  • Number of years in business;
  • Products and services offered;
  • Any working partners or strategic alliances; and
  • Market types served, etc.
