This Request for Proposal (“RFP”) is an invitation from Health PEI to prospective suppliers (“Proponents”) to submit proposals for the supply and installation of Laboratory CBC Analyzers Slidemaker Stainer, Digital Cell Morphology Technology, Reagent Supplies, Consumables and Service for Provincial Laboratory Services,Health PEI that will meet the needs of hematology testing at Queen Elizabeth Hospital based in Prince Edward Island, Canada.
“The Queen Elizabeth Hospital is an acute care hospital. The 243 bed facility provides emergency, surgical, inpatient and ambulatory care services. Located within this facility is the QEH laboratory, a division of Provincial Laboratory Services. The department performs specialized testing to aid in diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of disease and other conditions.”
Beyond the testing for the QEH, the Hematology Lab offers services (both conventional and specialized) to primary care providers, long term care facilities, and other HealthPEI Hospitals around the Province.
The Hematology Lab processes approximately 115,000 CBC’s annually
Provincial Laboratory Services, QEH Laboratory requires replacement of equipment and consumables in order to maintain service delivery. Currently, the department requires the supply and installation of two CBC analyzers, Slidemaker/Stainer, and Digital Cell Imaging Technology. The unit would also require ongoing service, maintenance support and provision of consumables required to operate the system.
