    DESCRIPTION OF REVIEW:
    
    The work consists of the complete exterior and interior heritage rehabilitation of the historic 1830’s Fort Henry Storekeeper’s House located at Fort Henry National Historic Site in Kingston, ON.
    
    The aim of renovations is to preserve the heritage character of the building and transform the house from its current unoccupied and dilapidated state to a recapitalized functional office facility for Parks Canada Agency.
    
    Primary work components include partial building demolition, asbestos abatement, full site servicing, landscape modification and tree removal, exterior concrete sidewalks and retaining wall installation, heritage brick masonry and limestone restoration, exterior paint removal, exterior wood siding, cedar shingling and metal roof installation, contemporary and heritage wood doors and windows restoration, gutting of interior claddings to framing, interior finishes and floorings removals, new hardwood flooring and carpet installation, hardwood floor refinishing, new wall and ceiling drywall, re-insulation of full building, interior and exterior painting, furniture and millwork, plumbing, full replacement of electrical wiring and lighting, IT cabling, new air conditioning and energy recovery ventilator (ERV) systems, and other miscellaneous items identified in the contract drawings and specifications.
    
    OPTIONAL SITE VISIT:
    
    There will be a site visit on Wednesday May 22, 2013 at 11:00 am.
    
    Interested bidders must attend at the Stockade Area of Fort Henry National Historic Site of Canada located at 1 Fort Henry Drive, Kingston, ON K7L 4V8. Refer to the site directions map (pdf is attached in this email)
