    ~~~
    Shared Services Canada (SSC) was created to fundamentally transform how the Government of Canada manages its IT infrastructure, in order to better support the delivery of programs and services to Canadians. More specifically, SSC was established to maintain and improve IT service delivery, to generate savings and to implement government-wide solutions that are modern, reliable and secure. SSC provides infrastructure services to its partner organizations, which are currently operating over 300 data centres across Canada. SSC’s plan is to replace data centres across its partner organizations with fewer than 20 centres. By consolidating and standardizing the management of these data centres, SCC will create opportunities for improved efficiencies, service and security.
    SSC will host an information session in the National Capital Region to present the data centre transformation plans that will support Data Centre Consolidation. The Industry Engagement Day will be open to all interested suppliers and associations from the IT industry. All media inquiries related to the Data Centre Consolidation Program should be directed to the Media Relations Office at 613-947-6276. The purpose of the session is for SSC to engage the IT vendor community in a discussion on the scope, the procurement strategy, the Supply Chain Integrity process and the key requirements of the Data Centre Consolidation Program. SSC will present information on these topics and collect feedback from industry to help shape the Data Centre Consolidation Program's strategy going forward. The details herein are intended to help prepare industry for the upcoming engagement events regarding the Data Centre Consolidation Program.
