    This requirement is for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
    
    
    Title: National Cataloguing, Classifying and Indexing Services
    
    Introduction: 
    The Department of Fisheries and Ocean’s (DFO), Information Management Branch requires the service of an experienced Librarian/Library Technician for various elements of the department’s cataloguing requirements.
    
    The Librarian/Library Technician will assist the Information Management Branch with the provision of cataloguing, classifying and indexing support services at a national level for the department’s libraries.
    
      
    Scope:
    The Information Management Branch, Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada libraries has the responsibility to ensure that the national DFO publications and other electronic resources are catalogued and indexed in Livelink Library Management integrated library catalogue which is the backend of the department’s public facing catalogue, WAVES. 
    
    It is assumed that the contractor understands that the DFO publications are published in both official languages sometimes as one document or separate documents. 
    
    The primary objective of this engagement is to undertake detailed cataloguing, classifying and indexing of new and existing entries into the WAVES/Livelink integrated library catalogue (database) on a national level. 
    
    
    Estimated Value: 
    The total value of this contract shall not exceed $180, 000.00 including applicable taxes for a period of one year to the maximum of $60K/year including 2-one year options.
    
    
    Mandatory Requirements: 
    M1
    The contractor must have 3 or more years within the last 5 years of full-time cataloguing experience with Anglo American Cataloguing Rules (AACR2R) 2d ed.		
    
    M2
    The contractor must have 3 or more years within the last 5 years of full-time cataloguing experience using integrated library systems such as Open Text Live link Library Management.		
    M3
    The contractor must have 4 or more years within the last 5 years of experience using integrated library software such as WAVES, Nova net, etc.		
    
    M4
    A library technician diploma or master of library and/or information studies and or  university degree in Science discipline 		
    
    M5
    The contractor must have a Reliability status - Security level.		
    
    M6
    The proposed resource must possess an intermediate level in oral, comprehension, and written, as per the chart below, in English (intermediate) & reading knowledge of the French Language (basis) 
    
    M7
    Detailed curriculum vitae highlighting specific experience in relation to cataloguing English and French government publications.
