Description
Duration: 1st March 2014 – 28th February 2015, with options to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods. Objective: The Institute of Ocean Sciences is a Federal Government Fisheries Research Facility located on Pat Bay. The property has over 300k square feet of building space and 35 acres of grounds, consisting of lawns, roads, storage areas and wharfs. All roads and parking lots have asphalt surface, while the large ship storage areas and wharf surfaces are all made of concrete. All surfaces are over 40 years old. The Institute of Ocean Sciences requires the Power Sweeping of all asphalt and concrete roads, parking and storage area surfaces including the power Sweeping of the Main IOS concrete wharf and attached kiosks. Also, the cleaning of all storm drain catch basins located on the IOS property. A Mandatory Site Visit is to be held on November 25, 2013 at 1:00pm local time at the Institute of Ocean Sciences, Sidney, BC. It is a requirement for all persons wishing to tender on this project to attend this meeting at the site to familiarize themselves fully with the scope of work and the tendering requirements. Your attention is drawn to the fact that all parties working under this contract must provide proof that they have or have applied for security status to the level of “Reliability” effective on the date of closing of this invitation to tender. Compliance with the mandatory security requirements is the sole responsibility of the bidder. The bidder’s “Reliability” status must be granted by Industrial Security Program of Public Works and Government Services Canada. Reliability status is mandatory for Contract Award. The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any procurement.
