    Request For Proposal (RFP) documents will be e-mailed directly, from the contracting officer, to the Qualified Supply Arrangement Holders who are being invited to bid on this requirement. BIDDERS ARE ADVISED THAT THE GOVERNMENT ELECTRONIC TENDERING SYSTEM (GETS) IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF SOLICITATION DOCUMENTS.
    
    Description of the requirement:
    
    Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), administers a number of programs related to immigration, citizenship, residency, among others, and retains historical records on microfilm. These records are accessed regularly in the course of ordinary business.  
    
    Records of enduring value are also retained in Library and Archives Canada (LAC) currently in microfilm format.  After April 2017, LAC’s preferred acquisition format for records of enduring value is in digital format.
    
    CIC’s immediate requirement is to obtain a solution to complete digital images of an estimated 4.5 million microfilm records, on or before March 31st, 2014. These records represent the older records in the collection.  
    
    Proposed period of contract:
    
    The proposed period of contract shall be from date of Contract Award to March 31, 2014.
