    Original Letter of Interest:

Attend a Defence Procurement Strategy (DPS) Information Session

On February 5, 2014, the Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Public Works and Government Services Canada and the Honourable Robert Nicholson, Minister of National Defence, launched the Government of Canada’s new Defence Procurement Strategy (DPS). The three key objectives of the DPS are to: deliver the right equipment to the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) and the Canadian Coast Guard in a timely manner; leverage our purchases of defence equipment to create jobs and economic growth in Canada; and streamline defence procurement processes.

As Minister Finley noted in her announcement, it is important to ensure that industry stakeholders are informed about the Strategy and its implementation and are able to provide input. DPS information sessions will provide an opportunity for industry stakeholders to obtain additional details on the Strategy, to provide their feedback and have their questions answered by senior Government officials from Public Works and Government Services Canada, National Defence and Industry Canada.

You can register now for one of the following information sessions:

(It is requested that no more than 2 or 3 representatives per organization attend a session in order to accommodate as many organizations as possible.)

    • February 18, 2014, Vancouver, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. - register at https://buyandsell.gc.ca/event/defence-procurement-strategy-information-session-0

    • February 19, 2014, Winnipeg, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. - register at https://buyandsell.gc.ca/event/defence-procurement-strategy-information-session

Additional information sessions in other cities will be scheduled and added to the Event Calendar at https://buyandsell.gc.ca/event-calendar as soon as they are confirmed. As well, a national webinar will be conducted once the information sessions have been completed.

Please email any questions about the sessions to rachelle.dean@tpsgc-pwgsc.gc.ca.
