Developing corrosivity and leaching protocol for evaluation. Develop criteria for assessment for in-service use under UC1 and UC2 conditions for mould resistance and UC2 (decay only). The contractor shall have an in-depth knowledge (preservationist/mycologist) of the following Standards and preferably be an active Committee member: • CSA O80; • American Wood Preservers Association (AWPA) • Accredited to conduct tests specified in the above standards Intellectual Property: There is no intellectual property expected to be generated from this project and scope of work. CCMC provides a product evaluation service for the building code regulators in Canada (i.e Provinces and Territories). Based on the results of the evaluation, CCMC will provide a statement of performance. Based on this CCMC statement of performance, other decision makers, regulators, architects, engineers and property owners, will then base their decision for acceptance of this treated lumber and sheathing for their building. The contract is being awarded to FPInnovations as they possess: (i) the knowledge to develop the appropriate conditioning to represent exposure during construction in coastal and non-coastal areas, (ii) the preservationists/mycologists with extensive knowledge/authorship of CSA O80 and AWPA standards, and (iii) are an accredited lab to develop tests and conduct the testing in this domain of assessing performance of wood preservatives.
