Parks Canada Agency, Banff National Park, Alberta requires a contractor to construct a 40 m aluminium pedestrian bridge. Construction will take place in Banff National Park Declared Wilderness Backcountry with equipment restrictions. The site is located approximately 5 km from Lake Minnewanka Road along the restricted Cascade Fire Road. The work includes but is not limited to demolition and removal of existing south concrete abutment, removal of existing steel girder bridge, supply and install new reinforced concrete abutments, supply and installation of concrete block retaining walls and approach trail, supply and install rip rap to south embankment, fabrication supply and installation of new aluminium truss bridge, supply and install railings for bridge approached, new trail construction, and trail repair at two washout locations including culvert construction. The project must be substantially completed on or before December 1, 2014. There will be a site visit on Thursday July 17, 2014 at 9:30AM by helicopter access only from Banff Operations Compound therefore Contractors must only send one representative for this visit. National Parks Regulations require that all work is to be performed in accordance with the ordinances, laws, rules and regulations set out in the National Park Act. Addenda, when issued, will be available from the Government of Canada tendering service. Bidders that elect to base their bids on documents obtained from other sources do so at their own risk. Late submissions will not be considered. Standard Terms and Conditions for this procurement are incorporated by reference into, and form part of the Tender and Contract Documents. Inquiries are to be made in writing and should be received no less than ten (10) working days prior to the closing date to allow sufficient time to respond.
