    Description of the requirement:

The Chief Information Officer Branch (CIOB) at Elections Canada (EC) requires a contract for the provision of professional services to assist with testing of software applications and products.

EC has a healthy mix of Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) products and custom build software applications to help deliver its mandate to the Canadian public. To continue to deliver quality products and services to EC internal business client within EC, the Chief Information Officer Branch (CIOB) has undertaken many IM/IT initiatives. Software testing is hence at the heart of software development and quality assurance service of CIOB.

The ideal resources should have industry proven experience in software testing that includes functional testing and integration testing.

The objective of the contract is to deliver high quality products and services to EC’s internal clients. This will be achieved by performing testing activities across a wide selection of technologies and applications, all of which are with a singular aim of delivering a successful election.

This will be achieved via the medium of a contract for provision of professional services related to testing of software applications and products at EC. The resource(s) will be requested on an as-required basis thru the use of Task Authorization (TA). The services will be coordinated by the Planning, Governance and Client Services (PGCS) Directorate of EC’s CIOB. Whereas some of the software applications at EC are client-server based, most of the newer generations of products are web based.

    Proposed period of contract:

The proposed period of contract shall be from award of a contract for a period starting at contract award to July 14, 2015 with an option to extend the term of the Contract by up to 2 additional 12 month periods, under the same terms and conditions.
