    Description
    This requirement is for: The Correctional Service of Canada has an as and when requested need for the provision of Renal Dialysis Services in the Regional Medical Hospital, Regional Treatment Centre, Pacific Institution, so that this service can be delivered in-house to decrease the risk to Public safety.

    Nature of Requirements: 
    
    
    The following is a summary of the statement of work for this requirement. 
    
    The Correctional Service Canada has a requirement to provide dialysis services and support to offenders in the Pacific Region.
    
    1.1	Background
    
    There has been a substantial cost monetarily and in risk to Public Safety for medical escorts to outside hospitals for provision of the Haemodialysis, and support for Peritoneal Dialysis patients.  These appointments are ongoing and pre-booked on specific days which increase risks to all involved.
    
    1.2	Objectives
    
    To provide Haemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis support within the CSC Pacific Regional Hospital dialysis unit in order to decrease the likelihood of outside appointments for this purpose.
    
    
    
    1.3	Deliverables
    
    
    -	Deliver up to a maximum of 3,130 hours of services annually, refer to Annex A – Statement of Work - Section 1.3 Duties – b)
    
    -	Provide written policy updates, refer to Annex A – Statement of Work - Section 1.3 Duties – g)
    
    
    -	The contractor will provide written documentation as required for Dialysis patient care (for the following stages of patient care (as per the standardized nursing process) : 
    
    o	Ongoing assessments and planning of care, provision of care, as well as discharge planning, and transfer of care purposes).  
    o	The contractor must also provide written recommendations to the Regional Medical Hospital Management Team in order to assist them to meet community standards in the field of Haemodialysis.
    
    1.4	Language of Work
    The contractor will perform all tasks in English in which the contractor must deliver the services and deliverables.
    
    
    
    Expected Delivery Date: 
    
    The period of the Contract will be from October 1, 2014 up to and including September 30, 2015, with an irrevocable option to extend the period of the Contract by up to two (2) additional one (1) year periods under the same terms and conditions.
