Data Centre Consolidation Mainframe Transformation - Notice of Industry Engagement Day (Sept 30, 2014)

Shared Services Canada (SSC) will hold an Industry Engagement Day webcast on September 30, 2014, via the government teleconferencing service, to:
a)	initiate discussions with industry on the requirements of the Data Centre Consolidation (DCC) Program Mainframe Transformation; 
b)	share plans with industry, solicit input and engage in dialogue regarding  mainframe service delivery options for SSC and partners;
c)	explain the proposed “collaborative procurement solutions” approach and address the cyber security supply chain threat; 
d)	ensure industry is given ample opportunity to contribute to the transformation of the Government of Canada’s IT mainframe infrastructure; and
e)	elicit written feedback from industry to questions posed during the presentation by SSC.  

The Mainframe Transformation is a procurement strategy and approach that will support the standardization, transformation and consolidation of the Government of Canada’s IBM Mainframe based technology.  This will provide a more efficient and cost effective mainframe hosting solution for SSC’s partners and clients currently utilising IBM mainframe technology.
