    Description
    Nature of Work:
    The work consists of the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment and material for demolition and removal of various infrastructure and hazardous materials at the WestPoint (Francois) Lightstation site, NL.  The Site is located on a rocky headland at the end of a fjord announcing the outport of Francois on the south coast of Newfoundland (Latitude: 47.559917, Longitude: -56.733917).
    
    In general, work under this contract consists of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following: (i) demolition, removal and disposal of the Dwelling; and (ii) demolition, removal and disposal of the Shed adjacent to the Dwelling. 
    
    Bidders are instructed to consult the appended tender package for further details and specific requirements.
    
    Site Locations:  Located on a rocky headland at the end of a fjord announcing the outport of Francois, south coast of NL (Latitude: 47.559917, Longitude: -56.733917)  
    
    A Mandatory Site Visit will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2014.
    Contractors wishing to visit the site must contact the Contracting Authority to obtain further information. (flight times / schedule)
    Please Note:
    -	If weather doesn’t permit flying on the scheduled site visit day, it will occur on the following day
    -	A maximum of 1 person per Contractor will be permitted
    -	Time allocated on the site will be a maximum of 2 hours
    -	2 days advanced notice is to be given to the Departmental Representative with respect to the company and individuals attending the visit
    It is a requirement for all persons wishing to tender on this project to attend this meeting at the site to familiarize themselves fully with the scope of work and the tendering requirements.  The Bidder’s representative must sign an attendance list and attend the entire site visit, to have their bid submission considered responsive.  
    
    Start Date:  Upon contract award 
    
    Completion Date: All work to be completed by 31 March 2015
    
    Security Requirements:  No Requirement

    Bidders should note that all questions regarding this request for proposals must be submitted in writing, No Later Than November 18th, 2014, 2 pm (14:00 Hours) ATLANTIC TIME to the contract authority.  The department may be unable to respond to questions submitted after that date. 
    
    Fisheries and Oceans Canada will not necessarily accept the lowest or any of the tenders received and reserves the right to reject any and all tenders received which shall be final and at the sole discretion of the Department.
