Trade Agreement: Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT) Tendering Procedure: Attachment: None Non-Competitive Procurement Strategy: Exclusive Rights Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: No Vendor Name and Address: KE Software 76 Richmond Street East Suite 350 Toronto, ON M5C 1P1 Canada Nature of Requirement: Upgrade of Collections Management System Contracting Officer: Max Joly Telephone No.: (613) 566-4240 Fax No.: (613) 364-4025 REQUIREMENT: The Canadian Museum of Nature (CMN) has a requirement to upgrade its current collection management system, Mimsy XG, to a system more suitable for natural history museum collections, EMu by KE Software. The system must accommodate all collections within the CMN, including those that are not currently managed by Mimsy XG. The project includes migration of Mimsy licenses to EMu licenses at a 50% discount, and migration of all data from Mimsy XG and all other smaller collection management systems into EMu. The estimated value of the potential procurement is $276,204 CAD, GST excluded. PERIOD OF CONTRACT: The data migration phase of the contract will last approximately 12 months, and licensing will be perpetual until terminated. You are hereby notified that the Canadian Museum of Nature intends to award a contract with the firm identified above. THE REASON FOR SINGLE TENDERING ARE: Subarticles 506.12(a) and 506.12(b) of the AIT permit single tendering in circumstances where there is a requirement to ensure compatibility with existing products, to recognize exclusive rights, such as exclusive licenses, copyright and patent rights, or to maintain specialized products that must be maintained by the manufacturer or its representative; and where there is an absence of competition for technical reasons and the goods or services can be supplied only by a particular supplier and no alternative or substitute exists. An Advance Contract Award Notice (ACAN) allows departments, agencies and Crown Corporations to post a notice, for no less than (15) calendar days, indicating to the supplier community that it intents to award a good, service or construction contract to a pre-identified contractor. If no other supplier submits, on or before the closing date, a Statement of Capabilities that meets the requirements set out in the ACAN, the Contracting Authority may then proceed with the award. Suppliers who consider themselves fully qualified and available to provide the services/goods described herein, may submit a statement of capabilities in writing to the contact person identified in this notice on or before the closing date of this notice. The statement of capabilities must clearly demonstrate how the supplier meets the advertised requirements. The Canadian Museum of Nature reference number, the contracting officer’s name and the closing date of the ACAN must appear on the outside of the envelope in block letters or, in the case of a facsimile transmission, on the covering page. The Canadian Museum of Nature retains the right to negotiate with the firm identified above. Closing date: February 13, 2015 at 3:00 P.M.
