    The scope of work consists of the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment, and material to provide upgraded electrical to the existing wharf site at Calvert, NL. The work will be completed in strict accordance with the specification and accompanying drawings, and subject to all terms and conditions of the Contract.
    The project work will consist of, but will not necessarily be limited to, the following:
    •	Demolition and removal of existing electrical service equipment, lights, cables and conduits.
    •	Supply and installation of new electrical service, lights, distribution including new conductors and conduits.
    •	Trenching and concrete repair work to accommodate new conduit installation in existing concrete deck.
    •	Installation of Owner Supplied light fixtures on existing poles and jib crane.
    •	Coordination with Utility to provide new 120/208V 3 phase electrical service. Contractor responsible to pay all contribution in aid of construction charges from the Utility. For Bidding purposes, assume this cost is $9,000 excluding taxes.
    Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that bidders visit the site and its surroundings to review and verify the form, nature, and extent of the work, materials needed for the completion of the work, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account or error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply.
    Contractors, bidders, or those they invite to site are to review specification Section 01 35 28 – Health and Safety before visiting site. Take all appropriate safety measures for any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid. Obtain prior permission from the Departmental Representative before carrying out such site inspection.
