Restoration of the Exterior of the Powles Head Lighthouse Tower, Newfoundland

Sealed, signed tenders will be received up to 2:00pm Eastern Standard Time: Thursday June 18th, 2015 for the attached services in accordance with the documents enclosed.

Please address the bid to Melissa Saumure.  Make sure any outside envelope (i.e. courier envelopes) are addressed as per the sample below.

The onus is on the bidder to ensure that the bid is delivered on time to the location designated.

Any tender received after the above noted time will be considered late and will be returned to the sender unopened.  Tenders may be revised by email, letter or fax (613) 991-1297, provided the tender and revision(s) are both received prior to Tender Closing Time.

Nature of the Work:
The work consists of the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment and material for restoration of the exterior of the Powles Head Lighthouse Tower, NL, in strict accordance with specifications and accompanying drawings and subject to all terms and conditions of the Contract.  The Site is
located near the community of Trepassey and is accessible by gravel road.

The Site is located near the community of Trepassey and is accessible by gravel road.  

A Mandatory Site Visit will be held on June 9th 2015 at 10:30am Newfoundland time.
The site visit will occur over a one day period (Contractors wishing to visit site shall contact the Contracting Officer to obtain schedule). Contractor responsible for all costs associated with getting to/from the site in Powles Head. 

Please Note:
- If weather is poor on the scheduled site visit day, it will occur on the following day.
- A maximum of 2 persons per Contractor will be permitted entry into the building.
- Time allocated on site will be a maximum of 2 hours.
- 2 days advance notice is to be given to the Contracting Officer with respect to the company and individuals attending the visit.  
It is a requirement for all persons wishing to tender on this project to attend this meeting at the site to familiarize themselves fully with the scope of work and the tendering requirements.  The Bidder’s Representative must sign an attendance list and attend the entire site visit, to have their bid submission considered responsive.  

Start Date: Upon Contract Award

Completion Date: All work to be completed by 12 weeks from Contract Award

Bidders should note that all questions regarding this request for proposals must be submitted in writing, No Later Than June 12, 2015, 2 pm (14:00 Hours) EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME to the contract authority.  The department may be unable to respond to questions submitted after that date. 

Fisheries and Oceans Canada will not necessarily accept the lowest or any of the tenders received and reserves the right to reject any and all tenders received which shall be final and at the sole discretion of the Department.
