Amend 1 - June 8, 2015 The purpose of the Request for Proposals is to award up to three contracts to establish a social finance accelerator in each of three service regions: Western provinces (including the territories); Ontario; and Quebec and the Atlantic provinces. Each accelerator will be required to work with organizations (e.g., social enterprises, social purpose businesses, non-profit organizations, charities, cooperatives, etc.) which develop and implement activities to improve social and economic conditions in Canada and are interested in accessing financing through social finance, or work with individuals wanting to launch such organizations, to develop investment-ready, innovative project proposals. Each contractor will help participants access social finance by a) providing intensive business development services to build the capacity of participants; and b) connecting them with potential investors.
